After completing a degree in business and finance, Lorna’s career began in a local accounting practice which gave her the fundamental accounting knowledge that she is still very grateful for today. After two years in practice and visiting various clients, Lorna decided the industry route was more suited to her and made the move away from practice accounting to a management accounting role within a global service provider. Whilst in this role Lorna qualified as a member of the ACCA and then further progressed to group finance manager. At Darwin Group, Lorna works closely with the project delivery team, something which she has found interesting and a refreshing change, allowing her to see the end result that the company is ultimately working towards.
“My proudest moment at Darwin Group was when the company was asked to deliver an emergency ward for Covid-19 patients. During a global pandemic we were able to mobilise and coordinate from home. Being part of a team who pulled together in a time of crisis to deliver such an important project on time and within budget made me feel proud to work for Darwin Group and be part of that opportunity.”
