Sam graduated from The University of Plymouth with a first class honours degree in civil engineering. He joined Darwin Group as part of the conceptual design team to produce sales and architectural drawings. Following this, Sam moved to work for an oak frame company where he picked up skills in traditional building and construction methods with a focus on manufacture drawing and programming. He returned to Darwin Group Ltd in a design management role, overseeing a team of design technicians working from conceptual design through to the detailed design stage required for construction. Sam and his team also collaborate with a large number of consultants in a multidisciplinary team to develop specialist designs including full civils and mechanical & electrical designs.
“My proudest moment working with Darwin Group has been our involvement on emergency wards during the Covid-19 crisis. This was a mammoth task, but our team all pulled together to deliver a 50 bed ward in 38 days; proving how much can be achieved when all project stakeholders work to a single goal.”
