Richard’s early career was spent as a carpenter working on sites of various descriptions from shops to schools and hospitals, then slowly moving predominantly into healthcare refurbs, then into low management in the healthcare sector. Over the last 10 years I have managed the construction or refurb of various types of healthcare building, from UH Bristol, and numerous Welsh Trust Hospitals like CVUHW, The Royal Gwent and Neville Hall. For the past two years, Richard has worked For Darwin Group, starting as a site manager, then progressing to construction manager and lastly senior construction manager.
“My proudest moment would have to be Hereford Hospital AMU, even with a very tight programme, the logistics of building between A&E, main entrance and a live helipad, we still managed to handover on schedule. By 11am that morning there were actual patients in beds, amazing.”
